LEPANTO NAVAL BATTLE

The most important event of my town took place this Saturday. The Naval Battle of Lepanto. This is an event that makes my town very popular. This year I participated in it, too. This means many things to me because I feel proud of my town.

For many years I had been thinking that I wanted to go to live in a foreign country because it is perfect there. This year I understood that my town Is more …......perfect.

I am proud to live in Nafpaktos not only for its sights but for its history as well. One of these famous events is the Lepanto Navy Battle. Two weekends ago there was a festival about this event and I joined in. I am very pleased for this. This year I understood the Navy Battle better.

This year I was a member of the Lepanto Naval Battle group. I was very excited when my teacher announced that we can take part. On Friday I was a Turkish warrior and on Saturday I was dressed up as a Venetian woman.

During the rehearsals we had a great time. We also learned many things about the battle. Although the weather wasn't good many people came to watch it.

I was wearing a beautiful dress and I felt like a princess. I was very proud that I was able to take part in the celebration of this very important historical event.
