A music festival, where young bands from Greece participate, takes place every year in Athens at the end of the school year.
To participate, all you have to do is send is a demo with 2 songs played by your band. There are 5 people on a committee that choose the best 81 bands to go on to the next stage.These 81 bands go to Athens for the final auditions and compete for a spot at the festival. The 81 bands compete, at the auditions, in front of 5 critics. The best 21 bands go on to play at the music festival.
A student from our school, Johnny Athanasiou with his band RAINDROP, has been chosen to go and perform in the second stage of the competition (the live audition). This is very special if we take into consideration the fact that 150 bands have been excluded from the live auditions. Moreover RAINDROP are very young and with little experience in the music field. RAINDROP showed that if you practice hard at something you just might reach your goal. To reach even the auditions is quite an accomplishment and everyone should support their effort.
