Evgenia Fakinou

Many people, teachers, students and regional bodies had attended the Third Secondary High School of Nafpaktos for the presentation of novelist Evgenia Fakinou. This event was held on the 6th of February 2010. The writer visited Nafpaktos after 33 years. Konstantina Dotsika and Angela Papapolita spoke of her life and her work. Evgenia Fakinou was born in Alexandria in 1945. She grew up in Athens and studied graphics art as well as archeological tour. In 1975, she created the "Ntenekedoupoli" and original puppet show by lying cans which was very much loved. She also wrote and illustrated 17 children books. In 1982, she wrote her first adult novel "Astradeni" which is still read today. Her novels have been translated into many many languages and are read world-wide. Eleftheria Zisimopoulou, Nikki Papanikolaou and Athanasia Barakou spoke about the bookk "Astrademi". At the end of the event, there was a discussion with the author.

    Something you don't probably know is that about 25 years ago KYTTEA language school presented Ntenekedoupoli in an open fun fair in Nafpaktos Fakinou, who was spending her summer holidays in Nafpaktos, had helped adapting the dialogues that time. I was one of the actors.
