GAWF Competition

The students of the Kyttea Foreign Language Centers participated in the panhellenic writing competition organized by the Greek Animal Welfare Fund (GAWF) in the English language with the topic “Once upon an animal”. The students had to either draw or write a story on the adventure of a stray animal.

One of our students, Christina Zormpa, won a merit prize in the writing competition and will attend the prize giving ceremony which will be held on Wednesday 16th June, at Byzantino Hotel in Patras.

Congratulations Christina!

Dear Editor,

I saw your article and I am writing to express my opinion on the subject of stray animals. I agree that stray animals are a problem in our town.

I have also some ideas about how everybody can help. Firstly, the government should make everywhere a big enclosed field to put the stray animals. As well as that it can introduce a law about stray animals according which everybody if they see an animal which has not got a home, they must take it and look after it or give it to stray animal houses.

Secondly the individuals have to do something. Stray animals need us. If we see a hungry cat it is good to feed it. If we see an injured dog we must help it. We must not neglect them. We can also make societies like Arktouros or give money to those societies and food or house some of the animals and look after them. We can do many things if we want.

I think that if everyone is a little more sensitive and help them we can find a solution and you and your team can be very helpful. You can write an article send it to editors of all the cities and tell them to publish it.
I hope you will find my ideas and suggestions good.

Yours faithfully,

Christina Zormpa.
