Leona Bloice
….. Leona is a teacher for adults and she loves her job, though she has had some cuts on her salary, like most people, because of the financial crisis. She told me that because of the crisis, there aren’t only cuts but there is also unemployment.
When I asked her about the
hospitality of the Greeks she was very impressed. She gave me an example that she was in a bar and she was trying to sing a Greek song and people congratulated her….
…. After that, I asked her to describe her city and she said that there is a big town centre, with a lot of shops and brand name stores. There are also flea markets and she confessed that the prices of our flea market are cheaper.
My next question concerned the transportation system in Birmingham. The system is very improved and more organized. That’s why people use it a lot. Many people can go to the centre by coach or by train.

Last week Leona Bloice came to our class. We asked her questions. She was from Birmingham, England. She a college teacher for adults. She had been in Greece in April. Leona Bloice likes Nafpaktos.
She arrived here on Saturday 20th and she was going to leave on Tuesday. She likes coming here in Greece and she loves Greek food. She is a vegetarian. The town she lives in is big and they can travel by train or coach. Their transport is good. We also asked her if her country has a problem with the economy and she told us that many people have lost their job.
It was really interesting talking to her.

…. What I believe is that these programmes offer us opportunities to meet different people and learn about their habits and traditions. I support programmes of this kind and I hope to participate in one again in the future.

A discussion with a stranger
Last Friday, I had the chance to meet Ms. Leona Bloice. She is from Birmingham in England and she is a teacher for adults, as she has been studying for years to get this position. In my opinion, she has a great personality and everybody can understand that just from her movements and generally from her whole appearance.
She came to Nafpaktos, Greece on Tuesday. She told us that she had been to Greece in April and had visited Patras and Nafpaktos. Indeed, she liked Nafpaktos more than Patras. Also, on this trip she visited the port, the castle and the bazaar. She had the best impression about our country and especially our town and its citizens. Although she enjoyed this trip very much, unfortunately she had to return to England on Saturday morning for business and personal reasons.
