A good friend is always honest

Most of us would like to confide in a friend from time to time. Is it possible to have a good friend who is honest with you?

Most people would agree that they can't trust a friend who isn't honest with them. There are times when friends are honest to each other and that is important. People must be honest to their friends about their behaviour.


However, perhaps sometimes honesty is unfair. If someone tells you truth she / he may hurt your feelings. When your best friend isn't honest with you, it is because she / he doesn't want to hurt your feelings.

In conclusion, while I agree that in most circumstances a good friend ought to always be honest with their friends, there are a few situations when that isn't true.
